Nick and I spent our day off together doing errands and it was actually so much fun. No kids, just us two towns over doing our big grocery shopping. We hit up Canadian Tire and found some cute things! I LOVED these Canvas Nutcrackers that were on sale for $40. I’m notorious for saying “I can make that cheaper!” and that’s exactly what I did haha.

I went to the Dollarama in Castlegar and found almost identical wooden ones!

I did a few coats of gold and umber paint, alternating back and forth. It wasn’t hard at all!

I love how they turned out! The nutcrackers were $5 each and paint was around $4, so total $18 plus tax. That’s a significant savings- and I had a fun craft night!
