End of Summer Rhythms

Summer has been incredible. The kids are at this sweet stage where they can truly enjoy the joys of summer break. Even the most mundane days are filled with fun moments for them. We’ve spent endless days in the water and in nature. We’ve adopted the park as our second home, where Harland has claimed the swing as his own.

It’s almost too much to ask to close this chapter of warmth and wonder. Here we are just a few short days away from a new chapter. I’m growing increasingly excited and nervous as most parents feel leading up to the start of a new school year. You want your children to feel seen and supported. You want them to enjoy their time away from home and thrive in a new environment. I’m also sad that my third child is onto her very own journey starting kindergarten! My baby girl is growing up and taking those first steps in her academics. Her first steps away from me.

My sadness is mixed with great anticipation for everything this next year holds for my three in school and my toddler who will have momma all to himself while his big siblings are at school. What an incredible gift it is to walk with these beautiful little people through this next phase of our story.

Prepping for school memories
Soaking up the last days of summer exploring
Doing more games at home together
Making broth to build our immunes before school (Lord help us all)
Back to school/new year shopping x4
Our brave girl who broke her arm the last two weeks of summer break
Sweet friendships that made summer special and will help make the start of the school season better!

Happy new school year, friends! My hope is that you’ll savour these end of summer rhythms while welcoming the start of school with arms and hearts wide open (and maybe with watery eyes, too.) 🤍
