Tara, an incredible family photographer, wanted to elevate her photography space. She wanted a peaceful place for parents, babies and children to enjoy while getting their photos taken. Often parents or big siblings have to hang out a little while Tara snaps a few of the newborn baby. While they wait, she wanted a space for them to sit and enjoy a bevy and snack.
Her needs were simple; she wanted a serene space to walk into. She also has a lot of furniture and props that we need to store/incorporate into her design plan. Stools and side tables by the plenty! So we needed to find a way to make them look good and also be practical in the space. She also needed a change table for babies’ needs.
Her wants… something to wow her clients! She is so talented and her work speaks for itself. But the space was a little less than spectacular. We needed to elevate it and give her a space that was on par with her brand!
The plan:

Painting the space white and layering it with neutrals will give it a soothing feel. I KNEW that this space would look incredible with a custom macrame piece and I knew just the artist to create it! My long time friend, Natalie has been an owner of a macrame business and creator of all beautiful things! Natalie incorporated Tara’s business colours and still kept the space neutral. This piece was definitely a wow statement in the making!

Next plan was the hallway that leads to her studio. A simple wall colour change to something warmer and layering carpet runners would make a huge change! We swapped the frames for a simpler, more cohesive look.
Here’s the plan:

Here are the before and after photos! I’m super impressed with how it turned out!

I’m a sucker for a neutral interior and this one is by far one of my favourites!
