The big kids shared bedroom

Our three kids Paxton (7), Larkin (6) and Oaklin (almost 5) wanted to have one shared bedroom. We’re currently in a 3 bedroom home so when our kids asked if they could share a room we decided it would work out really well to transition Harland (18 months) out of the master bedroom and into his own room which had been Paxton and Larkin’s room.

I wanted to give them a fun surprise bedroom makeover so I ordered a few things on Amazon and made a few small changes!

We needed a bunk bed! We went with a single over double instead of a three single bunkbed. The girls sleep better together and for now that’s okay with us!

Here’s my planning process and a few pictures of their room now.

The plan!
What it looked like before
Progress setting the bed up!
The bedding arrived! 📦
Finished bedroom!

The kids were so surprised and loved the transformation of their shared bedroom! For now they all want to be together… they’re even waiting for Harland to be old enough to join them! And until that changes, we’ll encourage and celebrate their closeness.
