Since I’m getting close to delivering baby girl, I have taken a look back at my original post on what to pack in your hospital bag. The refresher was so needed! I totally forgot about those little essentials- and it has only been 9 months haha.
There are a few things that I will be adding to my bag this time around and I thought I’d share them with you! The original list is also included below.
HOSPITAL BAG LIST:
-sports bra/nursing bra or bathing suit top for using the tub
-an extra nursing bra for after labour
-water bottle with a straw (much easier to sip on while in labour)
-orange juice and crackers (kept my energy up)
-flip flops (easy to get on and off from bathroom to bed)
-a robe may be desired (I brought one but could only use it after delivery because of my epidural)
-lose fitting clothing for after birth- including underwear that doesn’t have a tight elastic band
-your own pillow
-a hand fan, ice pack or spray bottle to keep you cool
-tooth brush, tooth paste, hair brush and elastics
-extra heavy pads
-baby’s first outfit with built in mitts and booties (bring a newborn size and a 0-3 months size because you just don’t know how much baby will weigh)
-newborn hat
-baby blanket
-baby diapers
-car seat cover to keep baby warm
-newborn soother
-camera
–Belly Bandit for post delivery recovery
-disposable wipes to freshen up
-eye mask (sometimes in delivery your doctor or midwife will tell you to take this time to sleep- this happened to me just before needing to push. I had just over an hour to snooze, but it would have been a lot better if I had no distractions and a blackout room.)
