Ever stop dead in your tracks and wonder what would have happened if you took one step off track; if your foot veered to the left by an inch instead of the right? How then would you have the things you have, the people you care for and the life you’re living right here and right now?
An overwhelming amount of relief swept over me as I held my husband’s hand a bit tighter as he pushed the stroller of our two week old boy. Thank you, Lord for keeping me on track, or rather saving me when my foot slipped off course.
These simple days are what I’ve longed for. Reheating my coffee for the second time and writing out the chords of my heart while my man and my baby boy both sleep with one hand on their faces. Nick turns to me and says “It’s all working out” and my heart beams because I know that no matter what life throws at us this is the simple life that fills my heart with so much joy. I don’t know what I did to deserve this life, but I’ll continue to give thanks for the journey that brought me here.
