It was a cool Sunday in November when our friends and family gathered in anticipation for our baby’s gender reveal! We chose to create a woodland theme throughout the space with little touches of forest friends.

“We can bearly wait to meet you!” says the bear. Woodland prints in rustic frames adorned the countertops as guests arrived. Handmade tree stump candles were the perfect touch of whimsy and rustic.

We wanted to keep the food simple since it was mid-afternoon (not lunch and not yet dinner). We had a large crock pot of potato soup (family recipe and totally delicious) with toppings and crackers to go with it. Vegetables, cookies, chips and pop corn were great snacking items. My favourite part was the hot chocolate bar with lots of ways to customize your drink!

The secret dessert was candied apples dipped in the reveal colour! These were great take home gifts for all the littles who came to the party.

The theme became very fun and lively and the anticipation grew for the big reveal! So we had our guests take team photos of their guesses while wearing homemade pink or blue badges to show off their team spirit. Our back drop was simple with brown paper, blankets and string lights.

It even acted as a great backdrop for some fun photos…

And then it was time for everyone to bundle up and go outside to find out the gender of our precious babe! A candy filled piñata seemed like a fun way of getting everyone involved, especially the kids.

AND THEN THEY SAW BLUE!!!!!!!! IT’S A BOY!!!!!

We were so thrilled to have everyone celebrate with us and join in on the excitement! This woodland themed gender reveal will be a memory I’ll hold tightly! I can’t wait to tell our son one day how our family screamed and jumped when they saw blue, but mostly I can’t wait to tell him how special he is to have people who love and adore him to walk with him in life. Oh kid, just you wait.
